Human Resources Manager

Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager is reponsible for leading the Human Resources Department, including overseeing payroll, training, and overall HR operations within the organization. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role provides strategic guidance to executives, managers, and employees on company policies and compliance with provincal and federal legislation. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this is a full-time, on-site position requiring a proactive and hands-on approach.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

As a Human Resources Manager, you:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in Human Resources (CHRP designation preferred).
  • Have at least two years of HR managerial experience in a related field.
  • Possess hands-on experience with ADP (required).
  • Have familiarity with SharePoint, Litmos, and Drata (preferred).
  • Demonstrate expertise in recuritment, payroll, benefits, administration, policy development, and record-keeping.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as well as Human Resources processes and best practices.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and writing skills within a digital environment.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Are self-motivated and take a team-oriented approach to achieving objectives.
  • Have the ability to develop, present, and implement innovative and progressive projects to advance the goals of the Human Resources department.

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS

As the Human Resources Manager, you will take on a variety of operational and strategic responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Leading a team of HR specialists across all areas of recuriting, onboarding, training, and retention.
  • Providing coaching and resources to managers and employees on career development, compensation, staffing strategies, performance managment, and employee relations.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the company's HR strategy to allign with business priorities and enhance the employee experience.
  • Identifying and addressing training gaps by developing and delivering effective programs.
  • Overseeing the management and updating of company policies and procedures using tools like SharePoint and Drata.
  • Serving as chair or member of various company committees.
  • Investigating employee relation issues promptly and with sensitivity.
  • Managing the company's health insurance program.
  • Ensuring compliance with HR-related policies and procedures through regular audits and reviews.
  • Supporting client-initiated audits, related to HR standards, policies and procedures.
  • Compliling and analyzing HR metrics, reporting trends, and providing actionable recommendations to senior managment.
  • Promoting and ensuring adherence to the company's information security requirements.
  • Handling other ad-hoc HR tasks as required.
